שיר כץ // פליטים בארצנו

בעקבות המלחמה, משפחתי ואני נאלצנו להתפנות מהצפון ולהפוך, בעל כורחנו  ל"פליטים בארצנו". מתוך המציאות הזו של נדודים, אריזות חפוזות, ומעבר מתמיד בין דירות נולדה הקולקציה שלי.

הקולקציה עוסקת במעבר החד בין מה שנשאר מהבית הישן, לבין חיים חדשים של תנועה מתמדת, אלתור וחוסר ודאות. הבגדים מספרים סיפור של עקירה והתחדשות, שילוב של זיכרון ובנייה מחדש. פריטים הנושאים את התקווה שמובילה התחלה חדשה. כל מערכת בקולקציה מתארת סצנה אחרת מתוך השנה המאתגרת שעברנו ומבטאת את המתח בין תלישות לשייכות. החומרים שבחרתי: עור, ניילון ,סיליקון, דריל ועוד, מיצגים ניגודיות בין הגנה לאסתטיות, בין פונקציונאליות לייצוגיות.

באמצעות שילובים של חומרים מגוונים, פרופורציות משתנות והומור שחור, הקולקציה מבקשת להחזיר שליטה ותקווה דרך עיצוב. בגדים כעדות, וכאקט של עמידה איתנה בתוך הכאוס. זאת אופנה שאינה רק נלבשת, אלא מספרת סיפור ונושאת זיכרון.

 

Shir Katz // Refugees in our own country

​

At the beginning of the war, my family and I were forced to evacuate from our home in the north of Israel and, unwillingly, became "refugees in our own country".  Out of this reality of wandering, hurried packing, and constant moving between apartments, my collection was born.

The collection deals with the sudden transition from our evacuated home to a new life of constant movement, improvisation, and uncertainty. The garments tell a story of uprooting and renewal, blending memory and rebuilding. The Pieces carry an hope for a new beginning. Each part of the collection depicts a different scene from the challenging year we underwent, expressing the tension between displacement and belonging.

The materials —leather, nylon, silicone, drill, and others—represent a contrast between protection and aesthetics, as well as between functionality and expressiveness.

Through combinations of diverse materials, changing proportions, and Macabre humor, the collection seeks to restore control and hope through design. The Clothes are a testimony and an act of steadfastness amid chaos. A design that is not only worn but also tells a story and carries memory.
