דריה ג׳ינו | "Illusion of Form"

פרויקט הגמר שלי עוסק באידיאל היופי המשתנה והמטעה לאורך ההיסטוריה. דרך עוגנים חזותיים כמו פסלים קלאסיים, ציורי דיוקן, מחוכים ובעידן העכשווי– גם פוטושופ ורשתות חברתיות – בחנתי כיצד ייצוג הגוף עוצב מחדש שוב ושוב כדי להתאים לאידיאלים לא מציאותיים.

הקולקציה שיצרתי עושה שימוש בטכניקות של השטחת גוף תלת־ממדי ליצירת אשליה ויזואלית בבגד, זאת מתוך רצון להאיר את הפער בין מה שאנחנו רואות לבין מה שבאמת קיים. בין הדו־מימד לתלת־מימד, בין חזות לעומק – נבנית שפה עיצובית שמבקרת את מנגנוני היופי שסובבים אותנו.

באמצעות עבודות שיבוץ אבני סברובסקי, סריגה, חיתוכים צורניים ונפחים במקומות אסטרטגיים, אני בוחנת כיצד ניתן "לעצב" אשליה – בדיוק כפי שנעשה לאורך ההיסטוריה עם גוף האישה. הבחירה באשליה ככלי עיצובי מדגישה את המסר המרכזי: אידיאל היופי הוא תוצר של עיצוב מתמשך, לא של אמת קבועה.

Illusion of Form – Daria Gino
My final project explores the changing and deceptive ideal of beauty throughout history.
Through visual anchors such as classical sculptures, portrait paintings, corsets, and in the modern era—Photoshop and social media—I examined how the representation of the body has been repeatedly reshaped to fit unrealistic ideals.
The women's collection I created uses techniques of flattening the three-dimensional body to create a visual illusion within the garment, aiming to highlight the gap between what we see and what truly exists. Between 2D and 3D, surface and depth—a design language is formed that critiques the mechanisms of beauty surrounding us.
Using Swarovski crystal embellishments, knitting, sculptural cutouts, and strategic volumes, I explore how illusion can be "designed"—just as it has been throughout history with the female body. The choice to use illusion as a design tool underscores the central message: the beauty ideal is a product of ongoing design, not of fixed truth.
Through this collection, I aim to provoke a critical and conscious gaze—and to raise one simple yet elusive question:
Does perfection truly exist, or is it merely an illusion that haunts us?
