גלישת גלים היא התשוקה הגדולה שלי ובפרויקט הגמר בחרתי להפוך אותה להשראה בעיצוב הקולקציה. בתור מעצבת אופנה ומתוך מודעות גוברת לבעיית זיהום הטקסטיל הגלובלית, זיהיתי דיסוננס שקיים בתרבות הגלישה: מצד אחד – חיבור עמוק של גולשים לטבע, ומצד שני – שימוש בחומרים סינתטיים מזהמים במיוחד. חליפות הגלישה, שמאפשרות לגולשים לשהות במים קרים, עשויות ניאופרן – גומי סינתטי עמיד, שאינו מתכלה ומזהם מאוד גם בתהליך הייצור שלו.

 

הפער הזה הפך לנקודת הפתיחה לקולקציה שלי שמבקשת לפרק ולהרכיב מחדש. אספתי חליפות גלישה משומשות או פגומות, ניתקתי אותן מהפונקציה המקורית שלהן, וגיליתי עולם עשיר של צבע, טקסטורה, וקווי חיתוך. 

 

עבודתי החלה בשאלה: מה קורה לחומר כשהוא כבר לא משרת את הגוף בעת הגלישה, אלא הופך לביטוי עיצובי בפני עצמו? דרך פירוק צורני, עבודת טלאים ודיגום אינטואיטיבי, עיצבתי קולקציית בגדי נשים שחוגגת את האסתטיקה של חליפות הגלישה במפגש עם אופנת רחוב.

Surfing is my greatest passion, and in my final project I chose to turn it into the inspiration behind my collection. As a fashion designer, and with growing awareness of the global textile pollution crisis, I recognized a dissonance within surf culture: on one hand – a deep connection of surfers to nature, and on the other hand – the use of highly polluting synthetic materials. Wetsuits, which allow surfers to stay in cold water, are made of neoprene – a durable synthetic rubber that is non-biodegradable and highly polluting to produce.

This gap became the starting point for my collection, which seeks to deconstruct and reassemble. I collected used or damaged wetsuits, detached them from their original function, and discovered a rich world of color, texture, and cut lines.

My work began with a question: what happens to a material when it no longer serves the body during surfing, but instead becomes a design statement in its own right? Through structural deconstruction, patchwork, and intuitive draping, I created a womenswear collection that celebrates the aesthetic of wetsuits in dialogue with streetwear.
